Thanksgiving!

We have had a great couple days! We celebrated Thanksgiving (the US one) at the same time here in Canaan. It is a special day when the kids get to have fun and make party plans! We cooked all day for the feast in the evening! They do this every year and it’s a BIG deal! The kids all get a huge turkey leg and the whole nine yards (mashed potatoes, gravy, salads, cranberry sauce, corn and some Haitian food as well.)

We did skits and special numbers like drhymes, songs, poems etc.. The children were all involved in one way or another and it was so great taking it all in! The sheer joy on the faces and the turkey drumsticks in their hands was a sight to behold. They partied well into the evening, thanking God for all He’s done through the year and that He’s continued to provide for every need.

We bought a TON of candy for the kids and made 4 pinatas as part of the entertainment. We did games too but the candy was a hightlight. I'm surprised no one was seriously injured....the kids went CRAZY!!! Dawson and Jordan were crying because they were pinched and bitten and stomped on and any candy they got was snatched away. We told them....it's not worth getting hurt over! We will give them some candy later! These kids are so tough!!

Friday we took them all to the beach!! It was great! Steph passed out the water wings and inflatable life jackets and the kids had a blast! We ended the evening with hugs and kisses as we tucked our kids in and said our prayers. Joday and Kira were too cute! Kira has been starting to make more words like crazy! She said very clearly "I luv yooo..." One more reason to give thanks to the Lord! Talk to you guys soon. Hope you enjoy the picures!
